Deep Trust & the Gift of Restriction

It feels good to write again. It’s one of my favorite release valves when things feel intense. Actually the sequencing tonight was: eating when not hungry, shaking my body to the sound of African drums by a fire, a few moments of stillness and silence, and then writing out the pressure.

Here’s what’s alive for me—

Do you want to know the secret sauce to Abundant Beingness (or just plain survival these days)? You may already know.

Trust. Profound trust and reverence for the path to which we are called—to the twists, turns and restrictions of our unique experience that propel us into deeper truth, embodiment and coherence. Without attachment to the outcome, I must add.

Without this element, it all falls apart and we can become bitter or disoriented in the cycles of reorganization that can never be understood from the mental plane. Oftentimes we get to enjoy confirmation that retrospect provides, looking back and seeing clearly how it all worked together for our best. But while in the thick of it, we trust ; )

The silver lining? We don’t have to manufacture this exquisite unraveling ourselves. Life is orchestrating our ultimate blossoming in concert with our deeper purpose, and all we have to do is show up, hold on, allow what is already there to come forward, release what is ready to be released, and course-correct as called. There is peace to be found here. For what is no longer aligned is leaving; what is false is transmuting; and what is truly for us cannot be missed.

Pure Love leaves no stone unturned—all will find its correct place. We are dreaming new Life into being, yet the way it all materializes is an incredible Mystery.

This knowing is a helpful cornerstone for me to return to (daily!) as every other aspect of life feels shrouded in Mystery and in constant flux. I feel cared for yet very uncomfortable at the same time. I have been provided for in incredible ways: wise counsel opening up greater prosperity for times ahead; invites to stay as people’s guest in beautiful places; new connections and opportunities that feel generative and full of possibility; kind strangers who have helped me with all things practical. And yet I also experience considerable pain, exhaustion, uncertainty, loneliness, inner angst and stretching on every level of my being.

The waves of contraction, expansion, surprise, wonder, sorrow, longing, etc. are hitting so hard and fast it can be challenging to meet Life with full presence. Perhaps you can relate!

This is to be expected...

The nature of time is changing, and we are experiencing Earth shifts and consciousness upgrades that have been foretold for eons. What is possible is expanding; what is no longer tolerable in these higher frequency bandwidths is purifying out. We came for these times.

What a privilege! What a f’ing roller coaster.

I chatted with my parents the other day. They always laugh at me and shake their heads when they hear my updates. “It seems like you make life as difficult as possible for yourself,” they say.

Well that certainly pushed my buttons… again.

Honestly I long for more stability, partnership and rootedness; my nervous system, body and wallet are having quite a time. It’s not that my desires are that complex—I just want to live in a world of truth, harmony and beauty; have a simple home in nature with my media naranja and maybe start a family of my own. And experience vibrant health. Oh, and world peace lol.

Yet what I want most of all is to do what is specifically mine to do and to embody more Love on this planet. And in order for me to do that most aptly, I trust the personally unique and epic adventure that is Life, in all of its glory and challenge.

I had a moment of passionate sharing with my parents after those old buttons were pushed: “It’s not that I’m trying to make life difficult; there are many things I would like to be different. But you should know that I will do WHATEVER I need to do, go WHEREVER I am called to go, in order to walk the path that is mine to walk and share what is mine to share—be it easy, hard, challenging, pleasurable, heart-wrenching, confusing, glamorous or thankless.” I think they heard me in a new way this time.

So that’s where the gift of restriction comes in.

I felt inspired to write because I am navigating some intense limitations that could be perceived as restricting my ultimate Abundant Beingness according to certain perspectives. Yet I also trust, deeply, that what I truly need at this moment, I have. And thus these limitations are pushing me into the next right step of my highest path. This too is part of Abundant Beingness. Allowing (if not embracing) the restrictions that narrow our focus and ensure we move in the most aligned direction, even if it isn’t matching up with our preferences or expectations. This is not merely blind trust—I know from hard-earned, lived experience that the Love which innervates it All can be trusted—no matter how weird things get.

Restriction keeps us in our lane and focused on what is truly necessary, thus ensuring we are available for experiencing and receiving what is truly best for us—what a gift! I think this piece is often missing from the abundance conversation.

So as we navigate uncertain terrain filled will challenges and stretching experiences, the invitation is to radically trust the Mystery! We are held by Love, as Love, even if it seems we are stumbling forward into the unknown.

Trust the wise quiet voice from the depths of your being; create space for silence so you can actually hear it

Trust the path less traveled that rises up before you, asking for your participation even though you have no idea where it will lead

Trust the movement of your body as it knows the way long before your mind can get on board

Trust Life will meet you in your giving as you release what is ready to be released

Trust the “no’s”, “not now’s” and cumbersome detours… they are protecting you, shaping you, refining you

Trust that the purity of your offerings will ripple out and enhance the Whole

Trust the seasons of your growth and creativity

Trust the power of rest when recalibration is underway

Trust the reverberation of your authentic signal, that it is shifting layers beyond what’s visible and inviting others into deeper coherence

Trust the wave of pure gift and spontaneous sharing that is ready to FLOW and bring new Life

Trust that breathtaking beauty lies ahead

Trust that nothing and no pain is wasted

Trust that the deepest, truest part of you is Love itself

Trust you are not alone
